On a whim I took off by myself and went camping in the mountains by Ketchum, ID. I pulled off the side of the road in a small meadow, laid out my sleeping bag (no tent) and stared up into the Milky Way (stars, not the candy bar).

As I laid there staring into the night, I kept waiting to hear the sounds of howling (there are wolfs in the area) and the slight rustle of padded feet….. and me without a pistol (did I mention it was a whim?)…
Only, I heard nothing… that’s right, nothing at all…. then I woke up, eyes wide open, staring straight up into…… nature’s call was howling loud…
The next morning I joined some folks with the Idaho Conservation League for a 7.5 mile hike through the mountains. It was a lot of fun….
On the way back home, I past a newly lit fire beside the road – flames leaping at the car, I slowly made my way through it following the signals of the man in blue. Got some good actions shots…
